Generally speaking, ring sizing is a popular request in January, for the rings that were given as Christmas gifts. But it’s important for your jewelry to fit properly at all times.
Changes in seasons can also mean changes in ring sizes. In addition, how our bodies react to daily exercise, and other largely uncontrollable variables can also render a ring unwearable.
That’s where Neustaedter’s Fine Jewelers comes in, providing the highest quality ring sizing services in St. Louis, Mo.
We Do Ring Sizing for Many St. Louis Jewelry Stores
Not only do we offer this service to our customers, we also do sizing for other jewelry stores all over the St. Louis area.
How Many Sizes Can I Change?
There are multiple considerations when resizing of a ring, most importantly is the design. Simple designs can go up or down 3 sizes easily, while other more intricate designs will limit the amount it can be re-sized, if it can at all.
How Will Ring Sizing Change My Ring?
Ring sizing is achieved by either adding or removing metal to obtain the desired size. We avoid metal contamination by matching the new metal to the old. If the design requires removing and then resetting stones, we are careful to prepare for that as well and communicate that to you.
Once we add or remove the metal, we restore the circular shape, solder it together, then professionally clean and polish the ring. Depending on the metal of the ring, we use Induction or Laser Welders when soldering the shank together.
Can Any Ring Be Sized?
Our Master Jewelers can size gold, sterling, silver, bronze, palladium, platinum, and brass rings. When the job is complete, there should be no indication or visible details that the ring has been resized.
Our Other In House Jewelry Services
Neustaedter’s Fine Jewelry offers the very best fine jewelry repair in the St. Louis area. In addition to our regular customers, Neustaedter’s performs jewelry repair services for jewelry stores all over the St. Louis area. Our owner, Richard Neustaedter often jokes…
“We’re the jewelry store other jewelry stores don’t want you to know about.”
Just like a fine automobile, fine jewelry also needs regular care and maintenance. That’s why we recommend having your jewelry checked at least once per year, more frequently if it’s jewelry you wear every day.
Damaged Jewelry Can Lead to Heartbreak
Worn or damaged prongs can lead to the heartbreaking loss of a gem. A loose diamond can, over time, cut through the prongs and fall out of the setting. A dirty or weak clasp may cause you to lose an entire necklace or pendant.
